Nowadays, digital technology has brought us very convenient lives. For producers and audiences, it reduced the cost of producing, distributing, storing and manipulating content. In other words, the new technology brought convenience and made personalized media consumption.
The uses of digital technology in the UK have given us a global advantage in the creation and production of compelling and innovative content. Compares with other countries, the UK cultural sector is relatively more important (at just under 6 per cent of GDP) than its equivalent sectors in the US, Canada, France and Australia. In 2008, the UK government decided that the creative industries must move to the mainstream of economic policy.
In recent years, the sector was growing, driven by rising revenues, new consumer demand, and competition for audiences in the UK. Especially, the developing both in online and mobile is very fast. Furthermore, some traditional media, such as television, are in the transition to digital technology.
Due to the change of the technology, the economics has changed into digital economics. These changes are challenging the economics of intermediaries of all kinds and more traditional types of content companies.
As the paper says, there are four commercial challenges that need to be solved in order to preserve a healthy content market in the digital age. As long as solved these problems, the developing of the digital economics should be much better.

What is Creative Common? It is a nonprofit organization, which was officially started in 2001. The new media is developing very quickly, especially the Internet. Due to this, it is important that to have a tool to let the authors, scientists, artists, and educators mark their creative work. The founder and chairman of Creative Commons, Lawrence Lessing, created this tool to creative work available for others to use and share.
Creative Commons can make sure that the copyright holders can protect their rights. In other words, the copyright holders can give some of their rights to any other people, if they like. However, they still keep some other rights through the way of using licenses and contracts.
Creative Commons has set up CCi (Creative Commons International) to work to spread to the Creative Commons Licenses to different copyright legislations around the word. From now on, there are so many countries have joined this project, such as China, France, Italy and United Kingdom. This project has different free licenses, which almost are based on the U.S. Copyright Act in many respects. In other words, though we have no reason to believe that the licenses would not function in legal systems across the world, it is at least conceivable that some aspects of our licenses will not align perfectly to a particular jurisdiction’s law.
You can use some tools to have Creative Commons Search. http://search.yahoo.com/cc
